hi guys

I don't like 'voltex-style' rear fenders or side skirts. The rear fenders don't flow with the natural lines of the car, and the skirts are too chunky for my liking.

So i plan to get rid of my voltex style rear fenders and skirts, which were on the car when i got it. I want my car to have clean smooth lines.

However i luv 'voltex-style' front fenders, and plan to keep them.

I will replace the skirts with a set of carbon fiber ones, have no pics yet.

thats going to be a pain in the *** and almost like impossible unless you add metal back to the car. Correct me if im wrong but for the rear flares your suppose to cut the rear section to fit them on and provide the wider room cause a section was cut out. so you will not beable to do that. Unless for some strange reason it was not cut. if thats the case being cut you would have to do some rewielding and not even close to worth it in my opinion. Might want to sell the car thats what happens when you dont buy a stock looking evo hard to make it your own.

OH F###K, just checked and realized they had to be circumcised in order to be fitted. What now??? May have to rethink the plan.

lol no problem man. I dont even own a voltex kit(i have ait racing full kit btw) but i know alot about body work, carbon fiber and body kits etc. Besides i have studied all about this kit to further my knowledge. at this point the only thing you can do is change front bumper side skirts Spoilers for sure and do it like that. Selling the car is your next bet to get another stock evo. Just thought i would bring that to your attention before you start wasting money ordering needless parts

Look at your rear quarter panel first, mine isn't cut or chopped, I just cut the inner lip without chopping my rear quarter panel off. I can take off the overfenders and it'll look stock again.

How is your rear overfender mounted? I see no rivets and does not look like its molded.

it's through bolted on the underside in 3 spots and to the rear diffuser, then double sided tape in the upper side, Voltex sends double sided tape but it doesn't stick well so i used 3m, and it works perfect.

well, if this was the case I'd be OK, i'll have to check. As i said, the kit was on it when i bought it. From what rock said, and the below pics, i just assumed circumcision was necessay. But then i noticed that the evo in the pic below has its fenders rolled, which by the way i think looks HOT.

Dont do it dude........

If mine are cut i can live with them, they're not that bad. It's just that i'm going through a 'wanna look discreet' phase. One thing i hate about the look of my baby is the way there is more clearance on the front fender. I think this is because the rear fenders sit slightly lower than the stock height. Getting lower profile tyres and lowering the front would make her look much better. Though my buddy said lowering the front would put the whole alignment out, anyone know if thats true??

in this pic you can see it how the different clearances look odd
