For people that could not make it to the Vishnu Dyno Day in Pleastanton, California, I present to you some second rate pics I took.
So, two people with Works products showed up. Wilson1 who has an Exhale, Brain flash and Works throttle body showed up and had his Evo dyno'd. I think he scored roughly 210 at the wheel, but he told me that his car did not score high when he initially dyno'd it stock. So obviously the Works stuff made an improvement. I also showed up with my Evo as well (which has a Works ECU reflash and Exhale exhaust), but declined a dyno run even though it was offered to me many times.
Anyhow, here are the few pics I took.

Back end of my Evo.

Vishnu Tunings Evo.

Another panaromic shot. Shiv is on the right in the shorts.

Customer's car. I had to take a pic of it since I had not seen the smaller wing on an Evo before.

Someone (never got the guys name) brough a Neon SRT4 in.

Nice pics!
Why did you decline to dyno? I understand the whole comparison issue, but I think a lot of people would have loved to see the A/F ratio.

A couple reasons actually. I don't want to be part of the conflict between Works and Vishnu. I know people want A/F ratios, but as I told Shiv, if he really, really wants to know all the details of the Works Brain reflash, then he should buy a it from Works himself and dyno it. There is no advantage for me to give him any info on the Works reflash for myself. As a businessman, I am sure he understands that quite well. I did ask for a trade though - O2 sensor on my dyno run for a turbo back exhaust, but he promptly declined. Originally posted by KK

Why wouldn't you want your car dynoed? I find it odd that your worried about making conflict between Shiv and Works. You are being just as bad as Dave and Works...keep everything secret like it is a big deal. I don't care whose products I had on my car I'd always be curious to see my dyno results...
210whp seems REALLY low for an exhale, t-body AND reflash. That is only about 10hp higher than some of the stock Evos were running. Even if his Evo was low hp before, I'm sure it would've done at least 185whp stock like some of the lower #'s we've seen from Shivs dyno....giving it no more than 25 hp peak gain?

I agree about the dyno run that Wilson1 did. The peak HP seemed low to me as well.Originally posted by broeli

I will get my dyno run in September when Works has their dyno day. So I did not get it done today - big deal. Besides, if my hp is really low like Wilson's, I can get info straight from the source and run them through the ringer about it.
And how the hell is me not wanting to get involved a bad thing?

Word - ! Isnt it a retarded dyno or what - how can you compare his numbers - they are so far off what any other dyno reads in the USOriginally posted by ChillinEvolved

You know that silver Evo with the small wing kinda grows on me.......kinda.
Anyway it looks like a good time was had today, with a pretty good turn-out. I wish I wasn't in the middle of the country as I would have loved to have been there.

Hey jansolo, too bad I didn 't get a chance to meet you. I am the dude in red shirt in some of your pics. I was actually there when Shriv dyno Wilson's car. I can't really say much about the performance since I don't know his car's baseline. I've heard from Ken that factory Evos varied from 170ish to 200 stock. My friend's stock yellow Evo ran 197 consistantly. I can't wait to see what my stock will produce. Hope to meet you so I can ask you more about the WORKS upgrade in our meets.
thx,

Hi guys,
We dyno'd two stock EVOs today. One made 200-205 wheel hp. The other made 194-197 wheel hp. Both are in line with other dyno results we made of stock EVOs (now typipcally between 195-205 wheel hp). The EVO with the Works ECU, throttle body and exhaust made 209-210 wheel hp. An EVO with a turbo-back (no cats) and an AFC made a consistent ~240 after some tuning runs. An EVO with turbo-back (with cat) and MBC set to 18psi made a consistent 217-218 wheel hp. Our Stage One car made 240-242 wheel hp on 91 octane and then 260 wheel hp on 104 octane on the race gas map. A customer Stage 1 EVO made 265 wheel hp on 104 octane (didn't dyno on pump gas). Both with cats.
Other cars of interest:
An Subaru STi put down 218-226 wheel hp on the dyno. A stock WRX (with BOV) put down ~170 wheel hp run after run. A WRX with a T3/T4 turbo, FMIC and a stand alone put down ~270 wheel hp.
That's about it. I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff but 7 hours of exhaust gas sniffing will do that
Cheers,
shiv
