I looked into this about a year ago. If I recall correctly the company that made brackets was RDD who is no longer in business. I think he had trouble/couldn't afford a business license. No idea what the guys name was anymore...but I think it mounted to the two bolts on the front of the seat bracket, so that other setup with it mounted to the front seat bulkhead looks exactly the same.

If you want to mount one to a roll bar as long as the tubing size is 1 1/2 inch then you can use the sparco mount. It looks great and fits most extinguishers.

As for mounting to a stock location I would say the mounting darkdrifter has would be the best.

The small 1lb or 1.2lb extinguishers won't pass tech. Plus, how big of a fire do you think you can put out with a small 1lb tank?!
If I remember correctly, you need to have at least a 2.5lb tank... I know this will pass most tech inspections unless you're in a class that requires a full fire suppression system.
Make sure it is a Dry chem / Halon / H3R intented for liquid / chemical / electrical fires.

If it is something you carry around only for track days, then I'd attach it to the center console (plastic trim) on the passenger side (near shifter). drill holes and attach bracket with screws for track days. Remove for street... and place in trunk.

This is the one we have...
H3R MaxOut Dry Chemical Extinguishers. DOT Approved 2.5lb. UL Rated and also Coast Guard approved.

I've used my Extinguisher twice already...Neither times on my OWN car....
