New wheels on my 9 second RS, what do you guys think?
New wheels on my 9 second RS, what do you guys think?
So I sold my SSR Competitions to Slorice thinking I'd find something I like better and maybe be even lighter. Well that didn't happen. The SSR's are light, they were 17x8's and weighed in at just under 16 pounds.
Wheels are a hard thing for me to buy, on my car, because it is white with black trim I like a black wheel with a polished lip. I just couldn't find anything I liked this time.
I ended up buying these TSW Trackstar 5's. 18x8", not the lightest by any stretch, 20 pounds. Being a weight fanatic it hurts me to run them.
I put on the new Mickey Thompson ET Street radial tire. Tire feels like it will work well, pretty sticky/soft just feeling it.
The car recently ran a 9.7 on straight pump gas and 9.11 on race gas. Thought I'd put the new wheels/tires on so I can drive it a bit before going back to the track to see if a real street car can run 8's
So without further delay, here they are.

I have to admit, I think the car looks freaking tough with them on there. I just wish they weren't so darn heavy, ends up tire/wheel package is 45 pounds.
BTW, THANK YOU JARROD FOR TAKING THE GREAT PICTURES AND POSTING THEM FOR ME.

Nice...but I would have went with some Volk LE28Ns (black with polished lip) or time attack CE28Ns (black with red lip). The CE28Ns/LE28Ns are one of the lightest wheels on the market...and a little JDM bling wouldn't hurt! Either way your Evo is all about breaking the sound barrier so it doesn't matter a whole lot! lol!

I have always liked several of the wheels in the TSW line. Nice choice, and fak the Volks, the TSW's look nice.
I really like the Volcano's. Such a simple good looking wheel. And probably akes a whopping 38 seconds to clean each one.
