David why don't you get some ultra light Gun Metal Buddy Club P1 Racing QF Wheels? They have a 15x7.0 5x114.3 that you can toss some Hoosiers onto (assuming you want to switch to small brakes) and weigh a SCANT 10.4lbs each. Otherwise they have other sizes (17x9 +28) that fit Brembos and still weigh under 14.5lbs/each.

17x9 +28mm they have only one set left in stock for the rest of the year and weigh 13.8 Lbs a wheel. $600 Retail a wheel!!! These can only be had once Buddyclub has 10 sets (40) wheels in a order. I agree great wheels but hard to get. I think over stock these wheels David picked out look great!

For those of you guys with suggestions on other light weight wheels in either 17 or 18", even those of you that posted already, could you post a link for me of the picture of the wheel. I would be willing to swap these out for something lighter if I find something I like.

The LE28's I considered actually but couldn't find any that fit the car. We are a dealer for Volk actually. I also like the LE37 a few years ago but after 6 months of waiting, I changed my mind.

I did a search in one of the huge wheel threads on here when I started looking and only remember the LE28's standing out to me.

I will NOT put a 15" wheel on the car. Not an option. I refuse to lose my large Brembo brakes. Even though the car went 9.1 it is not a drag car, I still want an EVO because it's an EVO. It is suppose to stop, turn and accelerate.

OK, I went and did some searching.

The Kosei's are probably my favorite of the ones mentioned but aren't available in the right size for the EVO.

The CE and LE 28's, I don't like either one. The Buddy Club's............ugly.

We all have our own preference in wheels for sure. I'm pretty happy with these even if they are heavy. Those Kosei's though would look good powder coated or painted black.......I'll have to check the weight on them.

David-

Any of the Volk wheels are going to be a good choice because they are forged and will be stronger than a cast wheel (better/stronger for pot holes). Also Volks are mostly light. You will want to stay with in the 17in range to stay light but doesnt mean it can look good The new ADVAN RZ wheel is forged and light as well. Usprung LBS can mean up to 200lbs or more can be saved from the right set of wheels/tires!!! Good Luck!!!

Here is my best friends evo with the Buddy Club QF's (forged wheel)
