New wheels on my 9 second RS, what do you guys think?
The car will not come close to 1,000 whp on a dynojet, not even close. It wouldn't even reach 800 whp.
I didn't get them free, thanks for the stab though.
I did some research and maybe it was just TSW's website or the talk of Formula 1and Indy on their site. The info they give about the bead and lip on the wheel I found interesting too. Here's a link to part of the site:
http://www.tsw.com/about.php
Anyway. I like the wheels, after having the car on the dyno today and looking at them, I am keeping them. I'll run some 9's on them and maybe TSW will sponsor me for being the only dumb *** to buy a heavy cheap wheel for a car that sets records. haha
Thanks for the input guys.

David I just got to work here in AZ I PM'D you back.
The wheel makes a good difference in performance but the actual weight of the tire makes even more of a difference. The reason I say the Buddy Clubs or Volks is because they are forged and are proven to be stronger than cast. If you daily drive your race car like Dave here
weight savings are only one part of the end result. Looks are a must. The ability to put up with potholes curbs and everyday street life plays a big part as well. Also price plays a big part, If you have a set of $3000 Volks the last thing you want is to curb them and have to wait another 3 months to get another wheel. Hope this helped.

LMAO man. Wheels look ok but if you ran wheels everyone else had your car wouldnt be unique. I'm pretty sure no one else has these wheels on their Evo and I'm almost positive no one else runs deep 9's in a pump gas street car

different strokes i guess. i had a set of $3k Volk SE37K's on my honda accord that i drove daily, autocrossed, and road raced. had them on the car for 6 years, no curb marks, tackled many potholes though, no dents, dings, or anything. after 6 years i sold them for $2k (though i was selling the car at the time, kept it, so now it's on stockers...RPF1's are in the future). i plan on getting a set of RE30's for the EVO and doing the same with them.
Oh dont get me wrong I agree with this, I have many customers rockin a $7000 set of HRE's every day in Chicago (bad streets)! The nice part about Volks they are forged and can last! It comes down to if you are willing to pay for another wheel if something does go bad. (say someone hits your car...) Pay to play right.
I would love to see some flat black TE's on the beast. 17x8, 17x8.5. 18x8, 18x8.5.
Dave, I have some pics of the TE's I had on my car 17x8.5 if you'd like to see them let me know. My car is GG though and the wheels are Gunmetal but it would give you an idea. I also have an unmounted 18x9.5 in flat black unmounted...Probably a little wide for what your looking for. I believe the 17x8.5 weighs in at just under 16lbs.
All in all though I have to say the car looks good, I don't know if I'd spend a $hitload to change the wheel choice. Maybe Rays/Mackin could give you a little love, The car's pretty well known.

RE30's hands down. 18x9 is only 17.45lbs, .15lbs heavier than the ce28n but the re30 is 30% stronger.

Next choice for weight/looks would be the rpf1 in black. 20lbs for a 17x8 wheel is a bit much.
