I have been thinking about going to a VIII front also. I thought I would get flammed for asking about this. DO the bumpers swap directly?

interchangable with zero modifications. my IX bumper bolted right up with no problems.

The triangle in the Evo 8 bumper sucks. It's bad design.

IMHO, the Evo 8 bumper simply with the triangle cut out doesn't have the right proportions. The Evo 8 "grill" is much deeper than the Evo 9 grill with the mesh. In a perfect world, you'd have the Evo 9 top with the Evo 8 bottom. I was looking into getting these made, but getting a mold done will set you back around $20,000 grand. Ouch.

Maybe I'll just buy myself and Evo 7 hood and front bumper and be done with it
