+1 for someone making them in the $200 range and a guarantee that people will by them

JDM bumpers flap in the wind? That sucks.

What's involved with modifying the rear crash bar? Some saws all action?

So your investment....just to have a different rear bumper is roughly 1k. IMO that is freaken crazy.

Modifying the rear beam is quick...looks oem....and solves the problem for almost nothing in cost. I would buy this part if my car had literally everything done to it and I was just looking to burn money.....actually my car is done and I still wouldn't drop $400

Its a nice addition to the car but extremely expensive imo.

that's a load of BS, and that piece is a total ripoff. the JDM bumper does not flap in the wind, and that crash beam doesn't support the bumper anyway. Anyone who actually spends money on that is a sucker. for one, the crash beam does absolutely NOTHING in a crash over 5mph. it's basically worthless. I was rear ended with my JDM bumper and no support TWICE. Both wrecks were at 5-10mph and the only damage done was to the bumpers. I got them replaced with no problems. if you get any harder than that, the crash beam doesn't do anything anyway.

rip off

I agree this part is extremely expensive but will insurance cover extensive damage to the rear if they find out there is no crash beam?

for one, they won't know. for two, if the impact is hard enough to cause extensive damage, the crash beam wouldn't have helped anyway. i've never had any issues with insurance companies replacing my rear bumper.

i'll say this once more...the stock crash beam is for accidents UNDER 5MPH. anything over that speed and the crash beam doesn't matter anyway, so it's pretty much useless.

yup i see where you are coming from..

here was my scenario..
got rear ended on oem rear bumper, girl was slowing down and only did some scratches and license plate was slightly imprinted on the bumper.. hardly noticable...

i got about 750 form insurance, the jdm bumper i got on hook up for 400 and the bar i paid another 400 hehe.. so out of pocket money for me was 50 hahaha

so for me it was way worth it..

What really is involved in making the stock USDM beam fit? And if you do, does it properly support the license plate?
