HID on RS

I own an RS.

I don't mind:
- Manual Windows
- No sound system
- No ABS
- No doors lock system

But I hate to drive the car without HID.
So I got some inexpensive HID kit.
Lot of peoples keep asking questions if they are worth 110-130$.
I will say yes as long they last at least 1 year

I see better at night and the car look better.

Everything was plug and play. Execpt the location to install the ballast.
The HID comes with a small bracket but you will have to make some modification to it, if you want to install the ballast under the headlight.

3 holes are already under the headlight housing, just use it.

Removing the front bumper was the hardest part imo with the junk plastic screws

HIDs are the best!!

I've changed it on my evo too and loving every moment of it.
The only thing i hate is gotta take the front bumper off though...bit annoying just for HIDs

I got mine from Sharphid.com. They look great and the ballasts are super slim. They are prolly around a 1/2" thick!

Paid 85 shipped for them!

Great mod, I'm thinking of doing this to the wifes' jeep. I wonder how bright they would be without the projector housing.

They'll be bright up close, but the light spreads big time if there isn't a projector.

There are ones out there that actualyl comes with projectors!
Problem is, installing might be a problem as you gotta take the headlight apart, and I'm pretty sure most people would rather not do that lolz

(Send me a PM if your interested and want more info about this)

That $85 shipped for the slim ballasts sounds like a great deal. Aftermarket HIDs are great IMO and I have installed them on all non-HID vehicles. As the OP stated, as long as they last more than 1 year (life I usually get out of PIAAs) for about the same price then I am happy.

You really have to take the front bumper off to install these, or just to mount the ballast? Thankfully my HID installs have never been that complex. I'll be doing some 3k fogs pretty soon and that $85 looks like it might be the one.
