Body Shapes
Body Shapes
Hey guys, I was just wondering just *how* different the body shapes are between the different evo generations, for example lets say I want to make my EVO V look like an EVO VII, if I were to mod an EVO VII body kit so that it fitted, how easy is it to tell that the car is not infact an EVO VII by shape etc.? How close could I get an EVO V looking to an EVO VII? Any tips would be much appreciated
Thanks

let me have a shot. the evos have different curves along the side and rear. to mold an evo7 to make it look like an evo5 would cost ALOT. heres my tip. if u want an evo5 to look like an evo7 trade it in and get an evo 7 itll cost much less.

Anything is possible with a lot of money and custom work, but there are 3 different generations of evo bodys. The 1-3 shared the same body, the 4-6 shared and the 7-8 shared. It would be a whole different body to make a 5 into a 7. You can do conversions easy within the body style. I have an evo III and over here there are so many fake evo III's (1s and 2s made into 3s) Mine is the only real evo III i have seen so far, well, up close enough to tell anyway. I suppose it is possible, but to go from 5 to 7 i think it would be cheaper and easier to just get rid of the 5 and get a 7.

Me too. I would so love to take my evo back to the states with me, but i will have to sell it when i leave here, either that or go overseas somewhere else. I will truly miss my car, but that's a little while away though.

It would be damn near impossible.
The Evo V is based on the original Lancer platform.
The Evo VII is based on the Cedia platform.
If you had the money to do a full body conversion, you could probably buy the real thing. They are litterally completely different cars from the inside to the outside and even have different lengths and wheelbases. You'd have a easier time building it from scratch as a kit car.
In the United States, the Mirage model is what the Lancer V was based on.
