Just went through this thread in full. I remember doing the sound deadening under my rear seat with dry ice. It was fun to remove like 5lbs. of crap in an hours work. I havnt done the front yet. Too lazy to pull the carpet as I daily drive my evo. Ill strip it like yours once I decide its going to be a life keeper.

Love this build. Big pimpin over there with all the ARC stuff, not gonna lie, im jealous. Btw what head unit is that?

Was hoping to get your perspective on why you chose a bolt-in cage versus custom welded in - I've heard a number of pro's and con's but since it looks like you're tracking as much as I'll be doing next year, was hoping to get why you chose that particular cage?

Thanks. It's a Kenwood touch screen DVD player. A few years old now though

I'm pretty sure it's standard on Evo IX's here in Aus actually. The emblem on the back is just the std chrome look plastic item sorry.

Originally it was because I wanted to keep my options open about returning the car back to stock one day but that's definately out the window now. The other reason was that it was an off the shelf kit so it was at a good price and it could be done quickly. Plus it meant it didn't have to be inspected by an engineer before competeing in cams events etc as the design had already been approved.

I love how it looks and it feels great to shift as well. Just got to remember to put my ring on my other hand before i drive it and not to park in the sun.

I purchase an aftermarket gear knob for my evo 7 & the shift boot doesn't connect to the knob, what can I use to stick it up?
