If you know how to solder it's super easy. If you have taken the display apart, you have seen the pins that's hold the two cuircut boards together. All you do is solder the wires to the pins and put the other end of the wire to the corresponding hole and solder.

The other cuircut board was put back inside the case and zip tied to the back of the dash.

[QUOTE=evoix10;7760085]I only have these, sorry. I was going to try to do a DIY write up but i got really busy with school and I just got my car back from after hitting a deer so i didnt take the pictures i wanted.

We could offer some sort of extension cable kit to separate the LCD main board from the LCD module. This would make this project much easier without soldering 18 wires. You still will need to provide your own beer

^^^that would be great for people that are not too comfortable with soldering on little boards like that. I would definitely get an extension harness. Ive been thinking of attempting the same thing and an extension would make it much easier.

If Zeitronix were to offer this extension kit, I would definitely purchase (depending on the price).

That would be a really good idea!

The picture is actually a little inaccurate. Shown there i soldered the wires to the back of the pin connector. Well, some of the wire kept breaking off because i really had no good way to secure the wires after i soldered them. So i finally cut all the wires off and re-soldered all the wires inside the pin holes. Much cleaner and stronger.

Lap soldering wires is the worst and will brake in no time. If you solder though the holes and keep the isolation all the way to the board it helps, but there is very little strain relief so you still need to be careful. I'm looking for a proper wire to board connectors to make this project easier for you guys.

Nice and clean! It's just a shame that the Zeitronix display is worthless for monitoring as it's refresh rate of 1Hz really sucks. Like you said though, if it were super important to you at the time you could just log it.

Nope, refresh rate of Zeitronix LCD is 3 Hz. Our ZR-2 gauge is 4 Hz. Any faster and human eye cannot percept the numbers.

I was just thinking...what about using a ribbon of wire? Like the kind in computers. I just took the keyboard off my laptop and I noticed the ribbon and connector. The connector is super simple. It's pretty much a latch that holds/pinches the ribbon agaist the contacts but I'm sure you know how they work.
