My Neighbor crashed my car WTF!!!
That sucks bro. Juanito showed me a picture today you sent him. Not to worry though. The insurance company should hook you up. Word of advice though. You are better off letting them pay for oem parts as they are usually more expensive. I should know, I just got mine back from the body shop on Saturday after someone backed into me. Fender, Radiator support, headlight and CF hood gone. They wouldn't pay for CF hood because it was aftermarket. $4500 in damges. Luckily I still had oem hood. The place I took it to hooked me up. Car looks better than it did before the accident. PM me if you want the body shop info. The owner is an EVO owner himself.
but anyways,
the insurance company gives you a quote/check based on OEM pricing,
you tell the body shop that you want to get your stuff replaced with the JDM parts,
if they don't want to order the parts ( witch you would have to tell them were to order them) then you go ahead and buy the parts yourself (with your own money),
have the parts deliverd to the body shop,
and at the end of the deal the body gives you money back (at the same time you give them "the" check for the money that was not used because they did not buy some of the parts.
offcorse your going to have to lay all this out to the body shop to let them know what you intend in doing before any work starts.
thats exactly what i did and know i have a nice set of Volk's RE30's and a APR rear diffuser out of the deal for "free". (not really free because i got hit but you get the idea
)
Do you know any body shops personally or know anyone that highly suggests a certain body shop?? Look around & try to find a body shop that will do good work but be willing to replace your aftermarket stuff and not put stock parts back on it...I am gonna go ahead & guess thats probably $6k+ in damage...

yeah they send YOU a check in yours and the body shops name... DON'T give the body shop the check untill the end and you have inpected every inch of the car, they cant cash the check without your signature.
