Funny, this brings back memories of seeing this same thing happen years ago.

I must have been 10 maybe and living in Boston and across the street was two old ladies. Very nice ladies as I remember and one day she did the same thing. She hit the gas instead of the brake and went through her own garage.

The tragic part was she broke her hip in the accident and we all know that when an ederly person breaks their hip it won't be too long before they pass away. She died a few months later and her friend also died about a yr later. Too bad...sad thing is this is happening right now with my grandmother also that lives with us. It's tough to see someone dying that you love.

and a 9 with that mileage is worth 20+...

We have State Farm too. With the damage you have, you might be playing it safe by letting a State Farm linked body shop do the work. If they find things wrong with it that the adjuster can't see, State Farm won't question it, they will just fix it and charge State Farm.

If you are SURE there is no extra damage that can't be seen, you can ask for a cash settlement. This way, you can buy all the parts you want from where ever you want, and take it to whatever body shop you would like to have the work/paint done, or do some yourself if you are competent.

My wife hit a deer with our '09 Mustang GT Vert last fall. Luckily, it was a light hit and only the bumper and corner light were damaged. I took it to a State Farm linked body shop and they took the pictures necessary, and wrote a quote. Then I called my adjuster and asked for a cash settlement. They sent me the cash minus my deductible. Ordered up a Shelby GT500 front bumper and other parts instead of the GT stuff I'll do the labor myself to save a few bucks and cover the difference in parts, and take the bumper to a good paint shop to have it painted.

My buddy owns a State Farm Branch and he said that they will most likely cover the whole thing for sure, so I wouldn't worry about that...good thing your all good though
