evo repaint
evo repaint
I have decided to repaint the evo in the Spring due to so many chips on the car especially the ones right behind the bottom of the rear doors. What color do you guys think I sould paint it...I was thinking mineral grey(ford color). Or maybe some kind of flip-flop colors.

I believe the color is coded into your VIN. If you were to try to sell it, or change insurances and they ran the VIN and it said "blue", but you'd repainted the car, they'd just assume that the car had been in some kind of major accident. That could/ would reduce the overall resale value of the vehicle, and could potentially have it declared as "totalled". . . at least this is what my insurance agent told me when I was going to have my car painted the Subie WRC Blue because of all of my paint chips.
But I don't know for sure.
What do you mean by "flip-flop colors" you mean the color change paint? Or different colored body panels? Either way, I'm not a fan.

I am not worried about the value going down I just something a little different since I will be putting a nice chunk of money in to it. Flip-flop in auto body language means color change so I was told.

I second Darknight on this one... Thunder gray all the way... then the only thing you'll have to do is try to get an aluminum roof! :P (good luck... )
But first, what color are your rims? Quite important, unless you want to buy new ones after the paint job...

trust me, i just did it, this is untrue. if all panel vin numbers match, then there was no accident. so if you paint, just make sure all VIN number panels match.
