You can disable it within the ECU... then i'm sure you can dump the unit. Test it out

I know how to disable the software, like I said in my previous post that my AEM and stock ECU don't use it. The problem is, the ignition coil relay wire (black with a yellow stripe) goes in and out of it, so if I remove it, I would need to join that wire, I believe. That is for spark, I am not sure if fuel or anything else is also controlled through it.

I'll do some testing and find out this week.

So last night, I did about half of the dash harness. Like the engine harnesses, I started out by removing the electrical tape, and getting rid of the connectors and wires I absolutely knew I didn't need anymore. Then, I could look at the individual wires, and see what ones aren't being used, and remove them as well. There are still 3 connectors in question on the passenger side, but you can see the progress that I made so far. I really think this harness will be cut down by about 60 - 70%.

This is the drivers side, not touched yet.

This is the passenger side, as you can see, it's only a few connectors now!

So far, all of this has been removed. Not bad for an hour or so of work!

Would run the ac? Since I will be running speed density I know of the 6 wires on the Mac clip only 2 wires are needed and I for the most half know which ones are needed, just wondering if the other 4 clips can be removed and traced back to one or god knows how many different clips? Thanks ahead of time.
There is that one relay in the small box that attaches to the larger fuse box in teh engine bay, but I know there are at least one or two more in the larger fuse box, as well as some small fuses in there. They will all be labeled with the snowflake. Just make sure to remove the fuses and relays, and test everything before removing any wiring. Make sure the blower motor still works, and anything else in the car that you may use. It's way harder to put stuff back then it is to remove!

And yeah, I am sure you can remove some wiring for the MAF sensor, but it may be easier to just cap off the wires, than tracing them all the way back. I am not sure where they would all go, but I would assume directly to the PCM area.

Last night I pulled the rest of the loom off of the drivers side of the harness, and pulled another huge chunk of wiring off. I still have quite a few wires, but I would say I am over half way done with this dash harness now. If all goes well, it should be ready to re-install this weekend.

Starting to wind down the projects, the car should be buttoned back up soon. I took all of the wire removed so far in a big leaf blower box that I had, and it comes to 11 pounds or so:

This is just the wire, not the brackets, sensors, and extra acd ecu and such that I removed in the cleanup process. That probably totals another 10 pounds.

I started figuring out how I am going to mount the fuse block and battery today. Because the firewall has so many mounting studs, I can mount the fuse block right in the middle of the firewall, with a 12mm nut and the firewall stud:

Once I get all of this figured out, then I can mount the dash harness back in, and then re-install the dash. Just a few more things, but they are all time consuming at this point!

It was 2530 with fuel last year, so it should be getting closer to 2500 flat this year for sure.

Great job mark, looking at the position of where u have the fuse box it seems that giant a$$ white box is missing that I have, it has something to do with the AC and I noticed on mine 2 coolant lines run up top, is it needed if I removed the ac? What is it and it does have 2 cable lines that control the hvac I believe, I don't plan on using the ac but would need to run the heat possibly for defrosting purposes, will removing this white box be possible?
