AlchEm1st's Evo IV Coupe conversion project
Thanks! Got a Mirage plan in the works? Hits up at Mirageforums.net! Other than maybe the trunk and wing, the drivetrain is gonna be the first thing done so I can roll sleeper status for a bit!
Haha, I'm planning to pick up a Mirage sedan for dd and swapping on oem Evo 5 or 6 bits. Probably keep the factory drivetrain since it's a dd but maybe swap engines too if I can't find a manual sedan.
Test fitted the Evo front today! Someday it'll go on...

Bit of a gap here:

OM NOM NOM I WILL EAT YOUR CHILDREN.

Those JDM headlights are killer bright too, here's the best I could do with the hibeams on LOL:

Also, got my Evo 8 mustache bar and diff hanger in so I built a bit of the rear end:

Wow AdamJ? Like the AdamJ that built the first and sickest Evocoupe eva? What's up? Nah, we've got a whole lotta new info over at Mirageforums. We no longer need to source Evo4 RS axles. I found out that Evo 8 axles are the same length and the Evo 8 diff is the same as the 4 RS diff. Basically, now you can use the 4 subframe with Evo 8 axles and an Evo 8 rear LSD and it goes right in. Only other issue is the rear upper control arm. One of our other members is working on a custom arm design so we won't have a problem there either.
AWD has gotten a lot easier to do!
Sup man, yea im actually doing another one currently, might post some pic up in a min, debating if i want to yet though, you can use Evo 5-9 rear but then your car will become widetrack, what ive used on other car and current car, but you have to make your car widebody to suit, looks good though man, check out my car when you have a chance

Yeah, from my research, it seems the mostly the 4-9 subframes are the same. The main differences are the suspension cups in the frame rail where the upper control arm mounts and the rear hub bits. Both sit farther out on the widebody cars. Same diffs and axles though. Yeah shoot me a link to your build, I'd be interested to keep up on it. I have referenced your old coudan build countless times researching for mine.
I'll put it up soon the car is in the rotissery right now stripped bare so there is not much to see ,but yea your mostly correct, however the main alum. rear crossmember is specific to evo4, evo5-9 is the same however, im still fairly certain that evo5-9 rear axles will be excessive in length for an evo4 set up, but i could be wrong, btw if you ever need any parts or such lmk.
