AlchEm1st's Evo IV Coupe conversion project
Update!
Started by tapping the swaybar bracket bolt holes. My car didn't come with a swaybar so the holes had 11 years worth
of rust and grime in them.

Mounting everything up!

And the finished product! It'll take a few days for the rest of the paint to rub off the rotors and then it'll look great with the black!

Parts list!
Evo 8 Brembo's powdercoated black (by the previous owner), drilled and slotted rotors, ceramic brake pads, JDM Evo 4
lower control arms, JDM Evo 4 23mm swaybar w/ Superpro bushings, JDM Evo 4 knuckles, and new Mirage brake lines all
installed and fully operational! Sadly after all that I took it to get it aligned and both inner tie rod ends are shot. I knew
something was loose but I checked everything and couldn't figure it out. Got some Moog ones coming though so it'll be
back on the road soon hopefully and better than ever!

cool project . I built 94AWDcoupe many years ago. Wanted to build another in 2003 in the 97 body when the evo 8 hardware started to arrive on our soil. Every time I consider it I would just drive my 94. "nope no need" with 600whp car is stupid fast. not much on the planet can compete for the cost...
best of luck with yours..

Nah, didn't bother clearing over them. The powdercoat finish on the caliper isn't actually that great and I'm not too worried about the decals either as I have plenty.
Thanks for the positive comments guys! Hope to have another nice update soon!

What do you mean? The overall car? Mostly cause I couldn't afford an Evo 8/9.
Well, mainly I just have always liked the looks of the 4/5/6 vs the newer cars and the IV has always been my favorite despite it's limitations.
If you mean for the brake conversion, all Evo IV-VI parts will bolt on to a 5th gen Mirage sedan with the proper supporting parts. I'm building
a coupe to be different even though it's alot more work. (and I mean ALOT) The Evo parts offer the best bang for the buck performance for
what I'm looking for out of the car.

There are a couple similar conversions done here in NZ, I've seen Evo III running gear transferred into 1993 mirage hatchbacks. The one I got to have a good look at made 350whp and weighed less than 2500 lbs. So I can see why you'd want an Evo coupe.
Awesome work, I'll be keeping an eye out to see how it turns out.
Nope not many legit conversions here at all that are coupes. I can only think of one other full conversion here in the US and that was AdamJ's car; (he posted here a few pages back) so it will be pretty exclusive for sure. I'm looking forward to it! We never got the 4/5/6 stateside so that makes it even more rare. There was one or two Evo 1-3 coupe conversions here though, but I haven't heard anything from those guys in awhile sadly. Too bad cause they had some sick cars!
