Where are you located in SC? Why don't you just get a hold of Kasey again and have him retune the car? Or take a trip to Spec-Ops and have Jason do it? My car has been tuned by both of them on 2 different setups and they both did a great job...

I don't want to drive 4 hours on the highway up to Jason or Justin. I've already spent 3 grand on this car and I would have to rent a trailer and get a truck from a friend. That whole trip would cost me nearly a grand just to get there and get tuned. I could stay at home, spend $315 and get a good tune and be able to drive my car again.

Glad to be a part of your build, everything looks promising!

Thanks guys. I think the real build is gonna be in the tune. I definitely didn't expect all this bs right off rip but there's nothing more satisfying than doing your own work and knowing your car is running great.

UPDATE on page 1

Wow, I totally missed this thread. But to the op, this is def. my old car. There was actually 3 guys that owned it since Ive had it. From what I was told, both were really hard on the car. But word of mouth does get stretch sometimes. It does look like a few things were changed since I had it and like I told you it did need a re-tune. The metal shavings in the intercooler is def. from a blown turbo, Ive seen it before. It does hurt my feelings that someone would say some derogatory things in this thread about something they know nothing about. FP turbos are blowing everyday and every car has problems. I bet that almost everyone in this thread has a problem with there car.

I do like what your doing with the car, it def. haves enough fuel for 700+ on E85. I also thing you got one hel of a deal with only paying 16k. I will tell you that there is over 5k just in the motor. Also the Trans and clutch are almost brand new, but the clutch is a Exedy Twin HD.

If you need any help or questions, Please call me or text me and I will do what I can for you.

Trust me, I don't blame you Kasey. I know the last two that owned this car were total freakin morons. I also know about the tune. No big deal. I don't think any of this is your fault. I just figured I would update you and give you a chance to chime in. No shavings in the head/block/pan etc so we should be good. Getting all the parts in now and making sure I take care of this beautiful car. Getting her back on the road, with the correct parts, tune etc. is my only goal.

I'm really just trying to get it back to the way you had it, minus the turbo obviously. Anything you can tell me about it's past and or any suggestions on where to go from here would help.

The HTA Green on some E85 would make a ton of torque and over 500 hp. I would go that route. My friends car made 491 and 446 on the HTA green with only 28 psi. That was on the stock motor as well. So with the 2.4 you should make probably over or close to 500 torque. When I had it with the Fp Red and 28 psi on pump gas it beat another evo making 500 on e85. So I would say it was making close to 500 on pump, but I didnt ever get it to the dyno. I just drove the car and didnt have much time for it. I do miss the car, and I wish I would have had more time for it.

Thanks for the insight Kasey. I'm gonna stick with the 93 until I find a DD for dirt cheap and I pay off the Evo. I'm thinking that 93oct on the 2.4 with the HTA Green at 25-26psi, I should be around 450-460ish which is great for a safe dd Evo. What do you think? I'm gonna get tuned by Wednesday/Thursday and I'm gonna do a virtual dyno to get an idea of where I'm at. I have read some good reviews about the virtual dyno and it's accuracy.
