I had a little problem, lol. I snapped the inlet of the oil filter housing while installing the FP oil line kit. Seems a lot of people are doing that because FP says 35 - 40 ft lbs to install the fitting. YEAH RIGHT more like 15 - 20. Anyway, should be doing it next week sometime.

That sucks. Similar thing happened to the intake manifold bolts on my cobra.

Yeah man, just when you think you're making some head way, you take 2 steps back. Order the new part, then install it and move on I guess. Not much else to do. I'll update the thread again when I am able to get back into the car.

hate delays boss man. I'm addicted to working on her though. Even when it seems there is nothing I can do, I'll find something if I stand in front of her long enough, lol. Like the other day, I got all my bolts/washers/lock washers and gaskets all organized so I know where they are and the installation of everything will go smoother. I also got the donut gasket on the o2 housing and got the o2 housing put on the turbo for an easy drop in. I also got the downpipe wrapped and installed (kind of, lol) So there's always something. Now I'm gonna keep my catch can but I can't decide where to put it

Update...update...update!!!

Ok, just so there's no confusion here's a pic of the old set up. Just in case you never saw it or forgot

And.... the new set up with plenty of extras and new goodies... here's the run down of the new stuff

FP Green HTA w/ 18psi WGA
FP Gen2 Oil line kit
Dejon Tool Intake w/ Amsoil filter
ETS UICP cut for GM MAF and powder coated gloss black
ETS Hard Upper Radiator Pipe, gloss black
Turbosmart Race Port BOV
Vibrant Vac/Boost Lines in blue
Mishimoto Air Diverter in black
JM Fabrications Coolant Overflow Tank
Megan o2 Housing
Megan Downpipe
Random Test Pipe

All new hardware, all new gaskets (well except for one ) The new oil filter housing and STM Radiator Brackets will be here next week.

Ok, quick shot of the turbo before installation

Now the grand finale ... well not quite but for now

No compression test yet because I don't have the oil filter housing yet. You guys will be the first to know the results

The air diverter was just an added bonus for me to look at. I actually decided to go with the Green because I wanted to get as close to instant spool as I could with the 2.4. I sold the Red for $500 to another guy and he was getting it rebuilt. Just a few thoughts though, when I jumped on the forum I chose my name because I originally wanted to go with a Green anyway and there's not too many people running a Green on a 2.4, it's just different.

This sucks... car's just sitting there waiting on an oil filter housing. When it gets here.... new oil, new coolant, new spark plugs, compression test and tune. Did a boost leak test yesterday, everything is solid and installed my catch can today. I'm doing another catch can but for now it's just on the vent side not the pcv. Oh and I'm putting on a Rexpeed CF Bonnet Vent next week too.

Finally got everything installed, compression test and inital logs done. Compression was 185,182,185,185 leak down is less than 1% and everything else is pretty damn nice. Slight exhaust leak from some loose manifod studs, that was quickly fixed, lol. I adjusted the boost down to 23psi, spark plugs gapped at .024 Torque is definitely up according to my butt dyno and she spools like a sum*****. I'll start the tuning process tomorrow.

Ok... wtf?! I test drive the car last night, everything seems fine. I get home and a cel pops up, it's a cat reading so no big deal. I don't have a cat lol. I erase the dtc and done. This morning I get in, start her up. Vac is fluctuating at 11-12 which seems a little low but I do have some serious cams. I pull away and she starts to sputter/backfire like a mini machine gun. All the way through .... 1st - 5th. Of course I turn right around and head home.

I didn't install anything that could be causing this. Only real new parts are turbo, exhaust, vta bov and piping. She still idles right at 1k rpms and steady. Only thing I can think is that I lowered the plug gap from initially .028 down to .024 but it wasn't sputtering like this last night.

Any ideas?

If you are still going to get it tuned asap just have your tuner check the car over for any problems first.
