I'm trying to get it tuned today but my tuner is ummm "unavailable" at the moment. I really need to figure out how to use this evoscan and ****!! If I can't even get the car moving without major sputtering, how can I get any decent logs to figure it out? I think it's spark somewhere, but who the hell knows

Sounds like you don't trust my work or map's work?? I didn't sell it because something was wrong, I sold it to get a 06 evo9 MRSE with 28K. Which was very nice

All new hardware, all new gaskets (well except for one ) The new oil filter housing and STM Radiator Brackets will be here next week.

Now the grand finale ... well not quite but for now


No compression test yet because I don't have the oil filter housing yet. You guys will be the first to know the results

No one's here trying to doubt your work Kasey, I think it's a matter of what the hell was done to it AFTER you had it. Obviously the 2 after you didn't take very good care of her and didn't know what the hell they were doing with it.

In the mean time... I figured I would share some info. Idle is sitting right where it was before all this *check* all fuel trims seem rich but Tom is gonna get all that figured out. No misfires or anything so spark seems good too. Vacuum seems a little low at idle and throughout the rpms (-12 at idle) but that could be due to me blocking off some other vac ports and adding the VTA BOV, not sure. Tom did say however that it had the worst timing maps that he had seen. So I guess we'll find out what Tom does to the current ROM and see how she acts after I flash the ecu.

Interesting, I guess my question is have he ever tuned a 2.4? But then again one of those guys could have been messing with the tune. The last map that had put into the car was completely safe and not dangerous at all. My set-up did take some weird setting up for sure.

Yeah he's tuned everything from a 2.0 - 2.4... been working on and tuning the Evos/DSMs for almost 11 years now. Could you give me some insight to how your tune was? Maybe any old logs or anything you might have had? I can gaurentee those douche bags were definitely messing around with **** but they had no idea what they were doing to the car.

I have tune many cars since that car and I am certain I have no logs. Although I will tell you it did not take the normal map on that motor. I always believe I was getting phantom knock because of the o2 dump. But it ran great with zero knock and was very strong.

Well I currently still have zero knocks... plenty of phantom knock, probably due to the road was driving on during a particular log though. I want to try to get the initial tune today and see if that doesn't clear up some issues. I don't want to do anything drastic but I was thinking I might have to go back to an intake with a recirc nipple and recirc tube then get the mid uicp from ets with a recirc tube to run a regular dv if I can't fix the vac issues. I think Tom is good enough we can work with the vta though.

Update!

Tuning has begun!! Right off the bat, Tom's first ROM cleared up all my little issues. Now we are fine tuning with a few highway runs, etc. Hopefully we'll have a good idea about some numbers come Monday. (I have to work on Sunday) So we're getting the initial stuff done today.

haha are you serious man?? This is the kinda sh*t that you run into when buying a used/modified evo...There have been what 2 owners since Kasey?? Why do you even keep bringing him up, I don't see how you could have some kind of "case" against him...If I EVER bought a used evo, I would have had the car taken to a shop and had a compression and leak down test done, I would have test driven the car...Maybe even pull the ROM, if the owner allowed it, so I could see what it looked like...
