what coating is this?

Grabbed this shot from another thread.. just wondering what coating this valve cover has on it.. its pretty sweet!

ive heard it called neo-chrome. Although, there might be more names for it.

I believe it might be speedstar's aurora coating, or at least something very similar to it. Here's the site:

yes its neo chrome and will cost you some bucks for it if thats what you want. that site that was posted you can send it to them to get it done. Mine is chameleon done by somebody else.

Oh yeah... Don't expect to get this done to an Evo anytime soon though. Here's a quote from the company:

When we did that particular cover it was our version 1.0 method, which was
only semi-hardened (so not as durable)

we are now using a new 2.0 method which last and holds up much better cuz
its fully hardened.

the problem is, Evo covers (except the EvoX) is magnesium and we can't do
that material now....

we are trying to work around it so I'll keep u posted.

RocketmanX can you post or pm me the info on that company who did your VC...
also roughly what it cost.. I see the aurora coating is about $500 just for the coating on a VC! ~ not cheap!!
