do your self a favor. once you have the gears adjusted how you want them use lock tight on the bolts.

and if your not using them to adjust cam timing honestly bro. keep it stock. less to worry about and less to go wrong. this is no 450hp 7500rpm drag runs.

No i am def using them for cam timing and will make sure we use lock tight on the bolts. I def dont want to have any problems so were going to make sure of that Since I switched to the Evo 8 head i needed new cam gears anyway so i figured i would go with the adjustables

Thanks Man! I switched to the Evo 8 head for a couple of reasons. First that my mivec head was having valve floating issues causing me to break up real bad in every pass. Car was down on power and I know it needed to be addressed. So I figured since I have to pull the head anyway might as well do the swap now. Evo 8 is better. Flows better makes more power and there are better Cam options. I put the kelfords 288/280 in my car and the car trapped lower and after awhile started to break up. Now my 8 head is getting the full treatment. All new valves, valve springs and fully ported, etc. After talking to Emery@STM at the shootout I went with his cams STM650s. Mivec head will make great power, I mean I did go 9.1 on it. But right after I put the kelfords in the car lost power ad trapped way lower then stared it's break up. Car will be on the Dyno this week, stay tuned!

UPDATE!!

Hey everyone,

Going to go pick up the head tomorrow from the machine shop! It is done and time to go on the car. Everything is coming together this week then planning on hitting the Dyno Friday. My goal is to hit the Dyno Friday then make it to the track on Sunday! The weather looks perfect for Sunday, low 70s and sunny

I will keep every informed this week and weekend. Goal is to make 800+ on the Mustang Dyno. What i have changed since after the shootout:

Evo 8 head Fully ported/polished w/ all new valves/guides/supertech dual springs and retainers etc.
STM 650 Cams
New ETS 5" FMIC
HKS Adjustable Cam Gears
Kiggly OPR

That is about it that i have changed. I felt the car had more in it with the Mivec head but since i was having valve flaot issues, figured it was time to the Evo 8 head now. Cant wait for the weekend. Its been about a month since i been out there last. Stay tuned!

HA! thanks man, car pisses me off at times, just can't get it to go any faster with what I got, instead it just runs the same damn numbers over and over and over again stupid emo's lmao.

HAHA! Yea i hear ya man. Evos are sometimes a big PITA. When i was running the Fp Black last season, I was running consistent times of 9.7 to 9.8. Couldnt go any faster and after awhile it got real annoying lol. But now i have had some issues and wishes i can go back to the day of running that cosistent I have a brand new 67/65 in my garage that im contimplating of selling. Lmk if you might be interested! if u decide u wanna go bigger!
