Smile All clean!

Just wanted to show my car some love and show her off a little. Just washed her all up tonight, inside and out she is looking good.

Also figured that this would give me a chance to introduce myself.
Im Taylor, live in vegas and got my evo about 2 months ago.

sorry for the quality of the pic, I took it with my phone.

not too much, i want to put it on MR suspension and lowering springs (not sure what ones i want yet) i only know that i want a slightly lowered look but maintain the characteristics of the car. basic bolt-ons like new j-pipe down pipe, and test pipe to go with my HKS Hi-Power. probably an evo 9 turbo, bigger intercooler to handle more boost, and full piping kit, and then some exterior mods, nothing crazy though.

Quik Q?

Welcome.

How often do you guys wash your cars live in the desert? and what type of wax do you guys use to maintain the already cheap finish on our cars?

i try to wash mine about once a week but this was the first time i did in 2.5 weeks because i was so busy. i have not waxed it yet, but i do plan on it. and when i do i will probably use TR3. it is a slightly abrasive polish to remove oxidation and protects the clear coat. i used it on my old integra that had the clear fading and chipping and all black trim looked gray. after that polish the car looked reallly nice and for 2 months all you had to do wash spray it off with soapy water to clean it.

Welcome! Sounds like you're on the right path to modding. Best advice I can offer people is 1. Research twice, buy once. 2. Pick a tuner & buy the parts they've developed. Not all might agree, but I believe you'll get better end results (no, not always most power) by installing parts on your car that were designed & engineered to work together. Some folks I see have parts from virtually every company that makes parts for their car..

My tuner of choice is WORKS. I currently have their TR303 package, & have several other parts from them I'm hoping to install soon.. Once I get the parts installed, all I have to do is send in my ECU to them so they can reflash it to accomodate the parts I've added - for free! No dyno tuning required ($$$), & mail-in reflashing works out great since they're in NorCal...a bit far to drive. Their stuff isn't the cheapest, but they are OEM+ quality. 80,000+ miles on their stuff so far, & not as much as a hickup!

Suspension wise, I'm working on doing what you mentioned. I have GTWorx springs with custom valved MR Bilsteins waiting to get installed. For a slight drop, look into those or Swift's. Plenty of threads on here that discuss both.

thanks for the kind words and advise.
Im pretty much decided to stay with mostly HKS parts. ive had many different parts from them and and very pleased with their products.

I've always heard good things about swift spring, and am considering them. I like the tien s-tech because of the way they sit but have never been a big fan of tien.

HKS builds top notch parts, but are hella expensive! You get what you pay for though... As far as Tein springs go, I'd run the other way. I would rather drive on stock suspension than run Teins. The MR struts I bought used got totally raped by the Tein springs that were on them. The right front shock was so bad, it required a new piston to be machined from the massive scoring! Again, there are plenty of threads that delve into the technical stuff about drop heights, etc.. Just search for lowering spring threads, you'll find 'em! ..Swift's are a great choice though, can't argue that.
