Evo 8 De-rice and Build Thread
Evo 8 De-rice and Build Thread
As some of you have already seen, I purchased Mike@Forge's old Evo8 a few weeks ago. It wasn't in the shape it used to be in to say the least, sadly.
So I am starting a thread for you all to enjoy (hopefully) and for my own record to see the progress on the car, as I am very motivated to bring it back to a respectable state.
I stole this picture from another thread, I hope that's OK. Here is what the car looked like in it's beginning days.

And here is what it came to be when I purchased it up in Grand Rapids, MI:

I will be updating this periodically as details change.
Thanks to all who have been a help thus far in my progress!

Already moving forward with X'ing the front bumper. It was a total eyesore and I caught a lot of crap for it! I purchased this locally from a guy who sold his car and got an Evo X.

This intercooler needed some help. I spend an hour straightening fins and began to polish it. It got dark so I will have to continue more tomorrow, while my new bumper is getting painted.

Forgot to mention it's already gotten a full turbo-back Tenabe 3" exhaust, paid $500 for it, pretty much brand new. Very nice sound to it, and love the sound at idle with the cams.
Looking to drop it a couple inches in the front, about an inch in the rear. Also should be getting the rest of the hard intercooler pipes put on along with a completely new air filter and intake pipe, followed by a street tune on 22-23psi.
Thanks for the comments guys. I will definitely keep the updates coming.
Yes, he had them listed for $150 for the entire stock 8 body kit. Unfortunately, he had a buyer for them so I offered him $300 for the entire kit so I could lock in the sale. I REALLY needed that front bumper! I am very pleased with it, and should be able to re-coup some money selling the sideskirts, rear bumer cover, and the riced out front bumper.
