that black EVO with black tail light is the ideal look i want on my EVO
my EVO is black too
does any one have idea of how to DIY that tail light?
what kinda paint?....process?
if it's not painted properly, i'm afraid the pain will come off in the futre
and how to make that signal light yellow just like the JDM light
i still want that
but that black EVO collguy949 posted is the best looking EVO to me so far....(the rear of the car)
if it's do able and not too costy, i would DIY it instead of waiting for the MR tail light

1 thing about the MR tail light and head light, want to make sure
if it's going to be available here in the US
the mitsu dealers will be selling them???

Evolution VIII MR taillights are being sold on Ebay right now. They're going for $399 shipped (buy-it-now). Just thought I'd let everybody know. They said they only have about 20 sets (well now only 19... )

400$ for some black paint and orange signal covers? C'mon, why not just paint them yourself, or better yet, buy normal JDM EVO 7 tails and make your car actually look good.

I agree with you here, but it depends on how much work it involves. The way you explain it seems simple enough, but obviously i've never done it.

This is all about preference. On black, silver, red, white and yellow the mr tails look better than jdm 7 tails. The only color i think the jdm 7's look better on is the blue.

my 2 cents

Dude, talking about blacking out your tail lights. I did 2 sets already and I ****ed up on both!!!! I'm so freakin tired and **** off right now. Sorry for the ramping... Well, something I would never want to try again. It's a messy and tiresome endeavor. 400 is not that bad.

Bro...how did you screw them up? I just did my headlights this weekend and they came out great! What problems did you encounter with the tails? I was planning on doing those next.

The tail light mod is a complete *****. They aren't sealed with silicon, but an adhesive like superglue. Takes a lot of concentrated heat to get them to open up. Then you have to mask everything off, prep, paint, and reseal. It's taken me atleast 7-8 hours, and now I have to open them up again to reseal because silicon sucks for sealing them. The headlights, which are sealed with silicon, are extremely easy in comparison. I would pick up the MR's if I had the money.

maybe this will make it easier for me to obtain my VII taillights. I dont like the look of the stock ones or the MR ones.
