Patrick B.'s Evo 9 Update............FINALLY LOL!
I can give you a little update.
I refreshed Pat's trans while it was getting other work done. There were just 2 items that showed unusual wear. The second gear syncro was completely worn. He was shifting into second gear pretty hard, the syncro cone had brass smeared on it from extreme shifts. The tabs on reverse syncro were broken off! Most likely from many years of use on an unsprung twin disc clutch. The gears are all in great shape with smooth gear tooth faces and no chipped teeth. It was in great shape considering all the years of hard use at high power level.

It's tough not being able to get back to the shop like before with the little guy around now

hope Mike has some updates for me this week on the motor coming back from the machine shop so we can get the car back together and out to the track again........it's been WAY TOO LONG for me i'm itching to get back behind the wheel

I'm doing my best to make sure he has the best chance to succeed in life unfortunately that means less time for me to play with the car right now but it's well worth it!
I guess i should start a new thread for this year to people on the car......motor is being re-build and although i'd like to try out an auto set-up i'd really like to just get out racing so that's why the 5spd was rebuilt.
Hope to be back out sooner than later
