Widebody Resurrection
What size tire are you running, and what do you use the car for? what would the benefit be to running larger? I'm worried if I go to big a wheel on the car I wont like it.. On the other side though when I had my buddies 315's on there they kinda looked tiny! If I go bigger could I ever run like a 275 tire?
I think you're on the right track with the RGDs. I think you should make sure whatever wheels you get:
1. Have really good, man size tires on them! (If I can fit 265s on stock panels and you're running less on widebody that makes your widebody kind of pointless besides looks doesn't it? Its so disappointing to see cool widebody cars on lame little weak compound tires.
2. Are relatively light
3. Have either concave spoke design or huge lip to capitalize on that extra width and low offset

Ya i agree on the pointless part of widebody unless I use it so I'm gonna make sure it's filled out nicely! Does anyone have any insight on running like a 305 315? I'm not sure exactly whats gonna fit under it and i'm also not sure what it's gonna be like driving this thing with huge meats. lol all i know is the 315's i had on with my buddies cobra rims still gave me about an inch to play with before they were flush with the outside of kit

Second, the height of the tire you want to use ( would advise trying to stay at or below stock height if possible. This will dictate your tire width because you won't be going lower than a 30 profile on an 18.)
Third, your budget for tires.
Fourth, the compound you want to use.
Once you've decided this you'll be left with only a few options. Assuming you go for 18's, once you pass 285/295 your options are severely limited. If you go for a wider street tire, you'll be looking at about two options Toyo R888 and Nitto NT05. R888 have a range of sizes but IIRC the NT05 only comes in 315/30/18 and at that point, the height of the tire will likely become the issue.
Also you must decide if you will be running fender liners or not. I recommend you do, but you will need to make a custom liner, or rub the stock one to pieces.
^ Everything Boltz said. I'm about to try to see how much of the fender liners I can keep. I need to trim most of mine, hammer pinch welds, and cut off part of the front surface of the factory sideskirt, and I'm only on 265/35/18 on 9.5 +22. If you end up making some of find examples of DIY ones, pease share.
I've been following this thread for a while, and I'm excited to see it finished.
The RG-D is a great wheel, and I've actually got a couple sets in stock here. I think you can go a little wider than 10.5" maybe. Figure out what specs you want to run and let me know!
