Turns out fine. Just use a reputable shop. Remember, you get what you pay for.

Another option is to get a trunklid from a base model lancer from 2001-03 I believe. Thats what I did. I sprayed the new trunk eb an threw it on. The good thing about that is, I still have my original trunk with wing hanging in my garage, if I ever decide to want the wing again.

Yeah I want to do that but I cant find one! I have another one from an evo but im wondering if it would be cheaper for me to find a lancer trunk and paint that rather that fill the holes in on the evo one and have it painted.

For you it would be cheaper to just get evo trunk done.Theres not much more work involved filling the small holes.

Tsidrift1 is right, finding a base lancer or rs trunk is probably the easiest cost effective way to go. I however bought a WW trunk w/ holes on here and had them welded and painted GG. All in all it cost me $520 including cost of trunk, labor, and paint.

I would have to say I'd get a lancer trunk too. For some reason I'd prefer to leave the factory truck alone, just in case I wanted to put the wing back on.
I know it's not much hassle but still....simplicity

596736, curious, did they need you to bring your car in to sort of blend the new trunk lid paint with the existing car paint, or did they just spray the trunk lid itself?

They just got the color code from my vin and painted the trunk lid by itself. I always hear about "color matching" but in this case they didn't that, but it came out matching fine. To tell you the truth I have no idea what is involved in "color matching".
