I am glad you are alright, but I think the amazing driver is the semi truck driver who managed to avoid all the other cars and get it to the left as well.

LOL! AWD had nothing to do with getting him over to the left. It's statements like this that make AWD owners think they are invincible to poor weather conditions like this. I hear it and see it all the time with truck owners and it drives me crazy heh.

I think AWD does give an advantage to even maneuvering because on ice undriven wheels stop turning causing spin outs.

Undriven wheels don't stop turning just because they hit ice. They stop turning when someone slams on the brakes. Slamming on the brakes tends to lock up wheels whether they be driven or undriven, which is why AWD doesn't do much to help in a situation like this one.
