The only good experiences I have had are when I have listed things for free. Anytime I try to sell anything it is more of a pain than it is worth.

CL has been good to me and its about to be good to me again today..like what was said before.. you need to sift through the crap and if your buying.. you need to talk to seller via the phone, not just email. People usually put stuff on CL that they just want gone so deals can be had! I got my Dunlop Winter Sports last year with like no milage on them from an older fella' that had them on an Acura TSX or something.. 4 like new tires cost me 150 bucks!! Goin today to pickup a set of RPF's I found.

I sold a trolley jack back when I had my Talon. After I lowered the car, the jack wouldn't fit and was useless to me. It was perfectly functional. I explained this in my ad. Listed the thing for $20 FIRM just to make it disappear.

Had people email me to ask why I was selling it. Default response was "Literacy is cool."

Got lowballed 6 ways from Sunday on it... $10, $15, got offered trades for random garbage.

One particularly bad day, I had a guy call and offer me $12. I asked him if he knew the definition of "firm", and he started "Yeah, but..." and I cut him off; "Yeah, but nothing. It says firm in the add, and $20 firm is what the price is, if you need help remembering what that means, you can bend over and I'll give you a firm reminder." Click.

I've got a set of tires I need to sell but have been holding off on CL just because I don't want to deal with this BS again.

Don't give people your phone number until they are ready and committed to buy.

People are d-bags. My friend recently lost her dog and so she naturally posted Lost Dog signs on the street. She received dozens of fake calls and B.S. messages from people pretending to find her dog and then laughing about it.
