Mine wouldn't fit in the oven.....so I used a regular old blow dryer, and it worked fine. It took one guy to pry it apart, while the other heated it up. I would really not recommend putting your headlights in the oven if it can be done without having to. I'm painting tonight. I decided to get rid of all the chrome.

I did mine with a hair drier the other day. I was scared of doing it at first but well worth it when its done. Make sure you clean the inside of the lens before putting it back on. Looks incredible especially on a white car.

I needed a comparison shot..... The pics probably don't do the hard work justice...but it "appears" the contrast is not significantly noticeable as compared to a black or white evo....

Blacked out

ahhh nuts. the SRS light is on, what do I need to do to make it go away? I unplugged the yellow plugs near the headlights, and i am assuming those are part of the sensors.....

Good job, voodooutt. Nice to know some already did them. The only thing that suck was it took you 7- 7 1/2 hours and you put them in the oven. I still gave you Anyway, I did mine in a different and faster way. The whole process took atleast 3 hours for both headlights. I did not put them in the oven but I only used a heat gun that you can buy them at any Walmart for $21. I let my wife to heat them while I'm prying the lens from the housing. After taking them apart, I painted the chrome housing 2 coats of black quick dry primer and 2 coats of low gloss black engine enamel paint that you can buy at any Autozone for $5. After letting them dry, put them back on and reheat the seal while putting back together until it levels the edges. I had to take out the amber lens coz I hated them.

I hope you guys don't run into some "fogging" of the inside lenses since you broke the seal. I bet you will eventually......watch.
