Blacked out Headlights

Just did this little mod, and I must say, looks great! What do you all think? Pics are a little big, so here are the links:

Voodooutt,
They look great. Was it a huge pain in the a__? I wanted to do it until I heard you have to spend a bunch of time just to get them off.

Ya know....this is seriously a great looking thing to do, problem is it's so time consuming and I am honestly afraid of F'n it up. I know this has been covered probably hundreds of times, but what if any problems did you encounter doing this? How hard is it really?

I'm with you Dragon. These look killer (maybe the single best diy mod you can do on an EVO), but at what cost?

the cost: 14.99 (paint)

if you are mechanically inclined, its easy as pie. It took me one hour to remove the front cover and headlights, thats the easy part, six 10 mm bolts and a dozen or so fastners for the bumper cover and 8 or so 10mm bolts for the headlight unit. removing all the bulbs and electrics from the headlight units was simple, i DID ONE AT A TIME, so I can see how the thing goes back together. The ***** is the oven and prying apart the clear lens. All in all with painting, took me 7- 7 1/2 hours till the last bolt was on the car again.

Cool, I used to install all sorts of stuff for a living in and on cars including mechanical stuff...so taking it all apart and putting it all back does scare me....it's the cooking in the oven and prying them apart without breaking them that totally worries me
