My Money Pit

Sold my jeep a month ago and bought an 03 Evolution. I'm new to the boosted car scene and the car I chose bit me in the ****. Bought the car thinking it had new precision tune turbo kit with a gt35r replica and hks ssq bov. Also has a 272 cam to my knowledge. Drove it home from Charlotte with it building 21psi and pulling strong. Got on it a few times to see what it could do and I was in love. Made it home about 6pm and thought I'd go show it off in town some but on the way in I heard a rubbing/grinding sound coming from the engine bay and lost all boost pressure. I wasn't to far from being at my destination so I limped it on in. Cut the car off and all I heard was the turbo fins scraping the housing. Determined that the turbo was **** but I drove it home so I could get it to the shop in the morning. Well next morning I go out to take it to the shop and the starter was done also.
Car is now in shop and the block is at the machine shop. Its getting a gtx3076r, wiesco pistons, eagle rods, arp head studs, new bearings, tial bov, competition stage 2 clutch.

Once I get her back, stripping head and tail light tint, tinting windshield, new hids, and interior cleaned

Sorry for the misfortune. Blew by You are awesome color and this looks like it was kept clean. What coilovers are currently installed, because it looks to be sitting low? and is that a RMR ramhorn manifold?

Man that's a bummer but it sounds like you're going to be giving it a sweet rebuild. Good luck!

It has tein coilovers, the exact model evades me at the moment, and for the manifold I'm not sure. For the most part the car was kept clean, front bumper has some road rash and the PO put a lip on to try and cover it some and drilled about 20 holes in the bumper.

Finally got the car back about 3 weeks ago, but having another issue. I bought the Buschur Racing Intake kit to bolt on the MAF but where the MAF was sitting to begin with didn't have enough space to fit the filter. I moved the MAF to where I'd hopefully have enough room to put the filter. So now the MAF is connected straight to the turbo. Went out for a drive now the car seems to shudder and it leans out when WOT. Any ideas?

The maf shouldn't be connected to the turbo. I have no idea how you even got the maf harness to stretch that far.

Holy crap, move that maf away from the turbo!! There's far too much turbulence that close to the turbo and it's probably confusing the hell out of the Maf.

Bad, bad, bad idea. Move it back and then cut the intake pipe a little bit instead of you have to...
