Question about trimming CF parts
Question about trimming CF parts
A local deal came up for me to pick up some cheap carbon fiber front fenders, I want to jump, but there is one issue. My fenders are rolled. I'm running 255/40-17's all around and the car is lowered a little, and I feel like I would have to remove the inner lip off of the fenders to prevent rubbing.
What would be the best way to go around this? Is it not even worth it?
I was thinking to either dremel it, or hacksaw. Leave a little bit there but remove most of it.
Or...not get them. I've never dealt with carbon fiber so I don't know much about cutting/trimming it.
Thanks!

We had a similar situation at my shop on Tuesday. We were installing a carbon trunk lid on an M3 and certain things weren't fitting quite right. We used a dremel to thin out some areas and a fine tooth air saw. If you know how much to cut off or there is a little "wiggle" room to give you some space you can do it. Just make sure you cut a lot less than you think you need at a time, don't go for the gusto right from the start and cut a big portion off...
