Cinque - the 1998 EVO V.
wow.. cheers everyone for the very positive feedback!
Gotta say, its not as clean as it must look! well.. its clean dirt-wise, but still needs work/repairs to be mint/immaculate.
unfortunately it has had some very poor paintwork done to the roof and front bumper, and there is damage to the rear lock area on the boot. ideally it would need a nice full repaint to look its best, but i may eventually just touch up these areas.
I still need to repaint the brembo's, and will do something about the stonechipped paint on the aluminium control arms.
I've also been hunting for a Evo 5 rear seat, to use the fabric for a few touchups to the front seats, and looking for a good factory momo to replace my worn one.
Just gradually cleaning everything up. although a little bit of wear just adds character; and doesn't take me away from enjoying the car! - I love driving!
Thats the way! EVO's are already special enough - there's no need to modify their appearance unnecessarily.
No point having something like a turbo-timer visible all the time.
only part that gets painful is the stock radio sitting there (the tape doesnt work, and only picks up Japanese radio frequencies), but worth it just to complete the look. Its very uncommon to find one with the original unit still there.
These cars are all dirt cheap in Japan, (pretty much cars in general) seriously.. damn nothing. EVO 5's all fell in the 500,000 - 1,000,000yen mark at the time i imported it.
Once its landed and registered in another country it gets a bit dearer; all up this cost around $15-20k AUS/USD.
Love the supra's. I just missed out on buying a completely stock RSP 6spd TT not long before i got this EVO (at a dealer in Japan, and sold within a couple days), but honestly Supra's id personally want to import arent plentiful there. lots of NA's, lots of Auto's.
thanks again everyone else.
almost running out of pics here! - but heres some more odd ones.
while replacing a few interior bits, and tidying up the EDFC wiring:

before i removed all the stickers off the back, pulled the silencer, and refitted the original Mitsubishi badge.

HKS..

the old FCON IS, and (original!) Japanese road-flare in the corner there..

the freshly powdercoated rocker cover and strut bar ends..

under the spark plug cover:

perfect original mats, i was very lucky to find on YahooJapan..

and some leftover pictures:

..and thats it! thats all!
will be visiting the location of those last 2 pics again, as soon as there's a bit of a sunset. always nice there..

Absolutely beautiful! I fell in love with this car long ago when gran turismo 1 came out.Id do anything to own this car and it makes me wish the states would have this and other historic Japanese cars.In the meantime my 8 will have to do haha
Oh.My.God.
The car looks like it is brand new! Such a clean interior and underside, and don't even get me started on that engine bay.
You have a really nice car sir, congrats on the great purchase and thanks for sharing the pics!
