Cinque - the 1998 EVO V.
Very well done, though I'm not surprised since I would come across pictures on mr2oc of your very clean MKI from time to time and this car seems like it will follow the same level of care. I'm jealous of course that you're able to just buy and ship those things home which we can't do here in the states. The car looks nice and clean as is, I would hold off on the repaint and just enjoy driving it. I sold my JZA80 because it was too much of a garage queen and I'm having a blast just driving my CT9A now.
One last thing, I love LOVE every part of the car except the mudflaps. The red just looks awful IMHO and I'm assuming that you won't be sliding this thing through dirt or gravel, so probably unnecessary from a functional standpoint. Sorry, but cheers on the other 99.9% of it!

thanks again everyone. very kind.
no need to worry about the car - i always do everything i can to keep them clean and running well. keeps me broke/tired/hungry though..!
biggest risk with any of my cars is crashing, as i drive the hell out of them. but obviously I'm not aiming for that!
yep, that's my AW11. lil reh!
we're definitely very lucky to be able to bring these things to AUS (as they otherwise would be totally unaffordable), but even then its no where near as open as some places (NZ, maybe europe/UK).
cars we import after 1989 still need to be approved, so not everything can come out. EVO 4's for example, a no go. unfortunately same is the case for an NSX, so good luck trying to get one of those out here for less than $50k..
I swear there are more GTR's and Supra's in Aus than Japan now though..!
I know what you mean about the paint thing. I've dailied my AW11 for years, and it pains me to see the wear+tear/damage that car goes through on an everyday basis. its filthy underneath, and the exhaust is hammered nowadays. its very very hard to really enjoy a car without damaging it. i totally understand garage queens (and would love to own a fleet of cars i only take out in the sun!) but damn hard when you're young or short of free space!
as for the mudflaps, ehh.. cmon! I love them as a nod to its rally-car heritage (and original purpose!) and reckon ALL evo's should have them permanently attached! BUT, no doubt they genuinely are ugly. :P
Its obvious Mitsubishi put 0 effort was put it to hiding or blending them in.
I'm running out of pictures here. so quality..is..falling...
but more again!

..paints a bit swirly there.. :P

hat tip to you sir a job well done and the attention to detail is second to none, a few of my friends and my wife thought i was crazy when i power washed my undercarriage.
^ only trouble is how filthy it gets oh-so quickly. BUT better to do it when you can. keep onto it from new, and it'l never get too bad..
not too much to update this with..
more driving:

..BUT did get a ARC airbox to match my cooler.
A part common enough in CP9A's, but seem to be rarely for sale. discontinued, so i had to buy used; but its not too bad. obviously a bit of wear and tear for its age.. ah well.

more enginebay pics. :$
anyway, its nice. i liked the factory airbox there, but this is just something a little special.
