Real sorry to see your 240 go by the wayside!
Thankfully I had the pleasure to see it on many occasions when I lived in MI; your work on that was near impeccable.
Glad to see you are bringing your attention to detail and quality parts to our side of the scene.

Best of luck on this new endeavor and enjoy the new project!

^ Hey thanks a lot man, appreciate that!

Things got a little hectic for the holidays, but I can finally get a little caught up here! My wife and in-laws got me a couple of goodies for the car for Christmas:

Tomei oil cap, Tomei shift knob, Cusco spin-turn knob, and Perrin antenna. Pretty cool little goodies! I installed the antenna and shift knob, but I haven't gotten to the other stuff yet.

The day after Christmas, my new exhaust setup arrived from Vivid Racing. I went with the Tomei turbo elbow, downpipe, titanium test pipe, and titanium catback fro the JDM IX rear bumper. I need to order a gasket for the turbo manifold and then I will be able to install the setup when I get some free time.

Somehow, I ended up with all three different ARC coil pack covers. Don't ask me how. There might be some other ARC goodies on the way soon by the sounds of it...

I got my first chance to drive the car in some decent snow and really enjoyed it. Crazy how these cars handle the winter weather with a set of snow tires on them. Lots of fun.

Next priorities- installing the new exhaust setup and getting the JDM IX rear bumper here and painted.

I'm diggin' the Tomei items! from what I've read in modified you'll be happy with the gains as well...Not that it matters, it's all about that sound!

Very clean build so far!! Car is coming along great, big money invested in those ARC parts haha. I would have kept the ets intercooler over the blitz, but hey, its your car lol.

That exhaust is super sick!!

Thanks man! I actually just started writing freelance features for Modified a couple months back. When I saw Peter's writeup of the Tomei system on his car, I had to give it a shot for myself! I'm looking forward to installing it.

It's unbelievable what I got most of the ARC stuff for. Had no intention of buying that stuff so quickly, but I guess it all popped up at once! And yeah, the ETS core was for sure probably a bit better from a performance standpoint. I'll admit that I often get carried away with choosing the parts I think are the coolest and not the best performing. But for a casually modified street car, hopefully that will be OK!

My other box of ARC goodies arrived yesterday. Another coil cover, exhaust manifold shield, and airbox. I'll probably run K&N filters for daily use to preserve the ARC filters if I can, haha. Not sure which coil cover I will end up using...

^Thanks! It's a 2003.

Not much progress- I've been on vacation and managed to pick up a pretty nasty cold bug in the process. My HKS 272 cams came today though, so that's pretty cool! I'm hoping to swap my GSC S1 cams out for the HKS ones soon.

As soon as I have the new exhaust, cams, and airbox on the car will be ready for a retune.

Why would you swap GSC S1 for HKS 272??It had been proven time and time that GSC S1>HKS 272
If you want mad JDM Bling yo,hunt down some Tomei Poncam 270 Degrees
At least it perform
Anyway seems like a refreshing build to me

You should've went with GSC S2s instead. But great build! Can't wait to see it finished.

i love a good solid home built car. its a rare thing these days. far more respected IMO then some one that just shipps there car off to AMS or Buchur to be "built stage X". where as you have a in depth understanding of every inch of your car. i built mine my self in my gagrage and made 500 to the wheels :-) Well done and i know it had to hurt letting the 240 go that was a beautiful car.
