Thanks guys!

I got my Cusco pillow ball upper mounts today for when I eventually order my coilovers. Hoping to have them on the way sometime in February or early March. I won't install them until April when the weather up here in Michigan breaks anyway, so it's not a huge rush. Found these brand new on the forum for a good price and planned to run them anyway, so I scooped them up!

I should hopefully have a couple other items arriving this week as well...

hey what are the drag tracks like up there, i was stationed there from 05-08 and may be moving back some time this year, to the farmington hills or Canton area, i know milan is near there but i have never been.

BTW your build is coming right along, well done so far, can't wait to see this thing if we end up at the same event :-)

Thanks man! The only drag strip I have ever been to is Milan, so I am probably not much help there. I have heard there is one in Lapeer, but I think Milan is quite a bit nicer track surface wise. Maybe I'll run into you at some point up here!

My Cusco parts arrived the other night: Three point front strut tower brace with BMC stopper, rear strut brace, and optional three point bars for the rear strut tower brace. I tossed the front bar on last night, and hopefully I'll have some time to get to the rear brace soon. Thanks to Cusco and PT for hooking it up! I see a few more of their goodies in this car's future someday.

Sorry again for the low quality cell phone shots. If I am ever outside of the office in the daylight again, I'll take some actual pictures with a camera, lol.

Thanks!

Finally found the time to install my Cusco three point rear tower brace last night. I trimmed all of the panels to fit so that I can still get to the spare tire if I need to in a pinch. Excuse my poor photo quality again, haha:

Install was surprisingly easy! My next purchase will probably be the coilovers. Hoping to order those sometime next month. I'll have a surprise to post up arriving tomorrow as well!

Time to add some decent photos to this thread, lol:

I decided to go with a set of Work CR Kais for this season. 18x9.5 +20, so pretty standard sizing for an Evo VIII. I think it should look pretty cool. I wasn't planning to buy wheels before my coilovers, but FR Sport had a pretty nice sale running on a set of these and I couldn't pass it up.

I also picked up a set of Work lugs to go with them:

I'm planning to run a 245/40/18. Hopefully I can pick up tires and get the coilovers ordered by sometime late next month!

I grabbed a couple of quick shots of the car itself as well while I had the camera out this morning. The car is filthy, but it's a year-round daily at this point, so I'm not super stressed about it. Hopefully the weather will break a bit for us soon. I've had the car for almost exactly three months, so I wanted to have some progress shots to refer back to.

I've got one more part coming next week for the bay that should clean up the driver's side a decent amount.

Lastly, I made a really quick exhaust clip this morning when I got to the office. I thought it would be good to have to compare the idle of the GSC S1 cams with the HKS 272 when I install them this spring.

That's about it for now! Patiently waiting for Spring at this point...

Dang nice! I think I saw a pic of your car with Ishin's in a driveway in his thread. I'd love to see more of it with the CR Kais! Sorry for biting your style, haha. I didn't see it until after I bought mine.

I got my ARC UICP in the mail last night- pretty stoked! Should really clean the bay up a lot. I ordered couplers for it today, so I should have time to install it and my new battery next week.

A couple other goodies should be here Monday. My gauge panel for the center console is also nearly complete, so those should hopefully be installed by next weekend when I get it back! Excited to post the pics, I think it turned out really nice.

PS: I'm currently looking for a RR JDM rear bumper. Probably a long shot, but if you have one for sale or trade for USDM rear + cash, shoot me a PM!

I wondered the same thing. Waste of money on expensive useless parts and the only other reason I could see is because all the magazines have them plastered on their pages. But to each their own.
