It depends on what you want to spend. I do retrofits (put HID's in non HID headlights) so I can probably offer some help. You can do allot once you have the headlights apart - paint, HID's, LED's, etc.. The bulb color (once you have HID's) is going to depend on how much light output you want. The bright white (with a slight blue) is 4500k - 5000k. The lower the number, the more yellow the light output. so something in the 7000k - 10,000k range will have more purpleish output (and less light output).
Hopes this helps get you started.

What brand were the bulbs? I'm looking for a 30k bulb but can't seem to find any decent ones.

The easy way to just increase the brightness of the light is to get a higher watt ballast. I run 55W ballast with 6k bulbs its bright white light with just a hint of blue.

I had the 30k once. You cant see anything at night.

Besides that most places dont like to sell that color because it usually turns out a wierd shade of pink.

The place you got yours still around? I can't seem to find just the bulbs, if you get the whole kit you could.

I hate anything non white, or a light shade of blue. It pisses me off seeing all these yellow and purple HID's that are blinding to oncoming traffic, but pitch black for the driver. Stick with 6000k or the highest I would personally go is 8000k.

The corner amber lights (parking lights) are 2825 bulbs by the way.
