yes its stock. will have updates after the new year. lots of new parts building up here. swapped to a dominator 2 turbo (think BBK-B) couple months ago out of curiosity. plain bearing turbo that spools faster than BB red.

It is a misconception that bb turbos reach the intented boost threshold faster than journal bearing ones, the only real difference between journal and ball bearing cores efficiency wise is the transient response in between the shifts. My last test was between the same turbo with different cores, jb fp black and a bb fp black on the same exact setup, both turbos reach the intented boost threshold at exactly the same rpm point at the same amount of time.

Really good work on the car , good choice of parts, and very good outcome, it has a lot in it with an even bigger turbo and stronger drivetrain 1/4 mile wise, and although the chassis is really light I wonder why you have not put the chassis on a spit and shave off some even more weight.

Strip the car down all the way to the bare metal, then put the chassis on a "spit", on a metal frame-chassis tilter, where you will be able to rotate it at 360* and thus being able to cut off any excess weight and replace certain parts with lightweight tubular ones. You can also remove any undersealing if there is, or any sort of unecessary sealant from it.

ah yes. we call those "Rotisseries"
I considered making one. but there isnt much work needed to the underside of this car. I dont want to remove any sound deadening from anywhere on this car. i have been adding it in key places. and man is this car quiet. its quite remarkable. my next project car may get the underside stripped and seam welded.

made a small change to car last week. I have had these bilstein shocks here for quite some time. I wanted to install them with all the other changes I have planned for the rear. and I didnt think the old shocks needed replacing. actually the new fronts made barely a noticeable difference. so I was thinking the rear wouldnt do anything either. boy was I wrong. such a small change made a HUGE difference. the car no longer dives in the rear like it did before. car used to be "all over the road" and now it is "point and shoot" . car stays flatter and takes off so much nicer now. big improvement to the safety of the car. these shocks are for a Volvo S40 2000 model. 19-061283. the front are supposed to fit as well. the rears "may" drop ride height by about 1/4 inch. the spring perch sits slightly lower on them compared to the originals. super nice upgrade for just 106 delivered for the pair. just ordered another set for my summit project.
