So Saturday I installed what I thought were NGK BPR8ES plugs, but after I realized the boxes were missing the "P" and the box said BR8ES. did some research and found the BRS are 1.5 cooler than stock plugs and .5 cooler than the BPRs. So no harm no fould, I think..... Today, I decided to rev it up a little since I heard the cams rumbling more than usual. It is a little rumble, since cams are not all out. Started up the gopro to get the sound and when I revved it up, hit the launch control rpm range and kaboom FLAME shot out!!! What do you guys think?
You need to do better home work..the numbers reflect the heat range of NGK plugs, for reference see http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/docs/te...bols_plugs.pdf.
do youself a favor and put the correct plugs in your car and just stick to driving it.
Yes, I know they reflect NGK. That is what I have used since installing all the bolt ons in my signature block.

Yes, I was a full step colder. The reason is to run more boost. I am now a step and a half colder by mistake. But, the car seems to be a little more responsive now than before. Which I like and the flame shooting out was me just messing around and wanted to just catch the rumble noise from the cams and compare it to the sound clip from previous times. Flame just happened, wasn't the original intent.

Do you have a need to go a step colder?

You don't need anything but the stock heat range with boltons. You're not getting any benefit from running a colder plug than stock. anything you might notice is placebo
