Just like the title says, I am debating what I want to do with my Evo when I purchase it. At first I thought that there was no way I would keep the factory taillights. As soon as I get it I wanted to get the JDM Evo 7 taillights. However, I was looking through my Hyper Rev and the Evo 8 tails did seem to look that bad, they kind of grew on me. So the question is, should I get the Evo 7 taillights even though I am going to have an Evo 8 or should I just keep the stock taillights, since they are the same as the JDM Evo 8 tails...?

Get the VII's taillights. This should be required of every new evo owner. The VIII's lights just dont look right. And besides, the usdm ones are still different from the jdm ones. They have an amber light in the bottome of thier tails. Just get the red lights, you'll love them so much more. Just looks cleaner!

 

Here, make up your mind. Blackout VIII, JDM VII and MR taillight.

 

*** yea, evo 7s for sure. i think those gaytezzas are the biggest turn off on the evo. I opted to keep my stock tails (oz rally) and smoke them. theres no way in hell (or heaven) i would ever go with altezzas.

 

wait, those smoked out stock tails look a little better on ur evo solar... ok i change my mind then - smoked out stock or evo 7.

 

absolutely vii's...hopefully I can get a set for my ride.

 

Gotta do the VII tails, its almost a necessity.

Why put on VII's when your car is not a VII. Thats called "rice!" Also pink reverse lights are not very cool on the VII's. Someone please make a new style, frosted white on top, red on bottom, kind of like BMW 540's . That would be clean and hot. Until then, Ill stick with the "real" JDM VIII tails.

 

"RICE" is looking like some chump Honda Civic who's owner just spent his burger flippen money at Pep boys. Only problem is that the factory VIII tails are the ones that look that way....switching to VII's "de-rices".

 

hey...just a fyi i do a mod and have done many sets...i turn your stock lights into a better than evo7 setup. I use a paint that is a much much better quality than even your stock cars actual paint. PM me for the cost if you are interested . It is considerably cheaper than evo7 lights and will last forever. Can even be buffed, wet sanded and waxed.
