I just got done installing my new JVC KD-LH300 deck. It took me a bit longer due to the fact I had to stop 10 minutes after starting to run to the emergency room. While trying to break loose a bolt to ground the HU, my hand slipped and the metal inside the dash sliced my finger down to the bone! Its about and inch and a half long right on top of my middle finger knuckle. OUCH!

I was still able to finish the install, with only one hand. I can post gruesome pics later if anyone wants to see

Moral? Wear gloves when working inside that dash area as the metal edges are damn sharp!

I cut my knuckle down to the tendons a few months back. Had an exposed vein and everything.

 

That metal framing in there is crude as h3ll and sharp as all get out ! !

why did you try to ground it that way? could have just grounded it to the mouting brackets that you screw into the radio. woulda saved you a lot of pain and time.

That sucks, hope your finger feels better, just think of it this way: You wont have to listen to the crappy,stock, stereo anymore.
