In-dash LCD screens

Any of you guys have any experience w/ flipout LCDs? I had a Pioneer which the motor to flip the screenout broke so I'm being cautious about buying another one. I was looking at some Kenwood units but I'm worried about the same thing happening. Any advice?

Interesting...becuase Pioneer are the best of the bunch. Did you have a high end model? The new ones, like the 6500 and 7500, are amazing. My friend has the 7500 in his black evo and my god is it cool.

I recently took a look at the Kenwood Excelsion. I liked the high-end model because the motorized tray could be set up to extend pretty far before flipping the head out.

Is this a pretty typical feature with in-dash flip-out LCD's?

This is important to me because I'm running Hardy's gauge panel and my head unit is in the lower cubby slot, which means any flip out unit would have to be able to clear the "overhang".

eclipse is top of the line, they are consistently top of the game in competiton, and screen clarity is top notch. and eclipse isnt your "best buy equipment" like pioneer is. it is completely competition level.

i have ran AV 7002, AV8022, AV8134, and have also installed countless pioneers, clarions, PWD's, and Kenwoods, and the eclipse is just...better..in everything.

save your money, and build a small computer w/ a flip out touchscreen. about half the price and you get all that storage on the hard drive.

cool idea, you can get little 6" LCD Touchscreens alone for like 250 bucks with composite in.
