$400 for viper 791vx or clifford rsx 3.5 is a very good deal. i paid $435 for the clifford rsx 3.5 with installation because i wanted the remote start function. in order to have the remote start function you'll need to pay a little extra for a module and it'll also cost you a spare key....$400 plus installation for any of the two alarms is a killer deal.

I think we're misreading his post...from what I see, installation alone is $400.

paying 400 for these alarms is a complete rip off.

If the store is selling to you at near cost, than your prices are about right. Most places want to mark up their products 100% over the price they bought em for.

Off to show and shine....

I'm in. I need remote start and turbo timer function and paging and all that. Anyone know what the keyring modules look like? I saw a viper (newest) and the keyring thing was a big box...bigger than the older model viper control. I'd really be interested in what the control modules look like for size and if anyone knows of any comparisons (better, worse) and what other options there are.

I am not too much into alarms now. To me they are nothing but noise makers. Nobody really pays attention to a car whose alarm turns on. If somebody really wants the car, they will get it no matter what you do.

that's the clifford rsx 3.5. $400 is a good price with installation. but i think that the module for the remote start function will cost you another $35-$50. fyi: some shop will not install the remote start on a manual car so make sure you ask. remember to bring a spare key when you go in and the installation takes 2-5 hours.

Has anyone looked into the Ravelco alarm? I was going to get it but the dealer refused to install it so I went with my Viper.
