opinions on riceyness of idea...

Ok, to prephase my question, I'm an adult professional, out of school, paying for my evo, trying to keep it clean looking, etc. so please flame only the idea, and not my personal self...

a friend of mine suggested a while back that i should put some faint red lighting under the hood of the car so you can see a slight glow when looking into the hood vent. I dismissed it as an extension of underbody neons, and that was it. Affter a failed electronics experiment, i have some ultra bright red LED's just sittin around , and they would probably do the trick faintly enough to not be to obnoxious, and i'm considering trying it now, b/c im really curious as to how it would look.

I could just mount 2 or 3 of them under the hood, just in front of the vent to light up the engine under it, so it would only really be visible to people above and slightly behind the vent, and it might be subtle enough that people only subconciously perceive it, and make the evo stand out a bit more in the dark..

what do you all think?? kick myself in the *** for considering something ricey, or maybe it might be worth trying, then kicking myself for bothering to try something ricy??

I'd have to agree. Although, if you go all out with neons, than that would be another place to add lighting.

Why worry about what anyone else thinks. I think a plain ol non customized car is GHEY but I dont judge folks that drive them. I think your car should be an extension of you and if YOU like it, since your paying for it then YOU should do it.... regardless of what ANYONE says.

Some lighting accents are okay. Like putting a small neon bar to accentuate the fmic or where you are talking about. Just don't go all out and get the full neon kit.
