Guys,

I got me a damaged stock high CB wing. I was reparing it w/ fiberglass patch to fix couple hole on the side and noticed that below paint and prime is all carbon fiber. Well, I'm just about complete with sanding off all and I must say that carbon fiber look is the ****!!!

I was going to repaint to factory color but now I'll keep it naked with CB look! Going to coat it multiple times with clear automotive spray. It's PITA sanding away, even w/ a sander but I think it'll look great finished on my RR Evo!

Anybody done this?

hehe, just for the evo family - here are the pics. Notice I need to finish sanding it, only one side's half done. Whata think, better naked right? Looks much more aggresive, I'm going for the red/black MR theme!!!

Should be finished maybe this weekend???

Now I gotta go back to taking the front bumper off to get to light housing...pita!

How long did that take you/what grit sand paper did you use? I was thinkin about doing that myself when my red evo wing got scratched. Ended up getting it resprayed. Nice work.

 

damn, somethings are just meant to be naked.

 

should try paint stripper. may be easier. But try it on a lil section 1st. Don't want it to melt the wing. Cool find!
