I had wobbliness during light braking going over 50 mph. I asked the dealer to check it out. Found it the front rotors were very slightly "warped". They lightly resurfaced the front rotors. Now the wobble is gone and it was covered under warranty. I've had my car for 17 months with 11500 miles. Obviously past the 12 months wear item warranty. Also, they had a free air filter replacement with 27 pt checkup which expired a few days ago. I got the free air filter, too.

Since everyone quickly comments on problems, I'd like to thank my local dealer for great service .

Lucky you. I can't even get the dealer to look at my car. Hell I couldn't even pay them money to put a pair of advans on my rims without signing a wavier stating they are not liable for scratched rims. Plus they wanted to charge me $400 for an alignment and 4 tire change... Goodyear did a fine job for half that price. Mitsu go suck the big one!

I used to have the problem too. The steering wheel would violently shake when braking at highway speeds (60+). After a couple of months, it just went away on its own. Now the steering wheel is rock solid when I brake.

Based on this, I believe the problem was caused by the brake pads leaving residue on the rotors. With continued use, the residue eventually wore off.

I'm careful now when using my brakes. After coming to a hard stop, I try not to keep the hot brake pads in contact with the rotors, at least for a long period of time. At redlights, I use the minimum brake pressure to keep from rolling, and I try to roll forward/backward a little bit from time to time.

I had the same issues. 1st time dealer resurfaced the rotors 2nd time dealer replaced rotors 3rd time dealer resurfaced them and now they say they will not warranty any more work on the breaks....What a load of ****!! I think there is something wrong with my calipers, they have warped 2 sets of rotors now. I re torqued the lugs, and I do not smash on the breaks at all. I is such an annoyance. Also, after this third time, my breaks feel mushier, I don't know why.
