WHICH TIRES 265 40 17s or around there for my evo8

hey guys...l need tires for my new 17X9.5 22mm offset volks i have coming. I am going to roll my wheel wells with the machine at www.slickmotorsports.com and if needed get bigger wheel wells. So i am wanting 255 , 265 or 275 40 17s . I am open to all options and comments

I think 275s will be headache in 17s on the street. They will fit very very close. I think the 265s are the way to go for max width on the street and a little closer to stock diameter too (in a 40 series).

I am interested in this process, please post pics when you roll the fenderwells, and with the new tires and wheel.

I have 17x9 and got 255's Toyo T1S. After putting them on, I was kicking myself that I did not get 265's if that gives you any hints. My fenders are not rolled and have no rubbing.

how much extra space does rolling the fenders clear for the tires?

Just a warning since your in OH, don't put those tires on until it's very warm. Make sure you get a lot of camber with your alignment, ie. -3 in the front and -1.5 in the rear.

My friend is running 275 40 17 Victoracers with 17x9 /35offset. He needs too add a 5mm spacers in the front and roll the rear fender to clear, but still rubs everywhere during hard cornerings when he ran at Limerock. And to use up all the rubbers on the 275 tires efficently, you really need a set of 17x10 wheels. There will be more tire flex also since its taller compare to let say 255 40 17. All in all, I really don't think its worth the effort since the fastest time attack evos (HKS, Cyberevo) in Japan are running 255 40 17. Good luck!
